Robben Island is a significant world heritage site where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, a maximum security prison which housed leaders of the African National Congress during their battle for civil rights and equality.

 

Robben Island has  now become South Africas most famous tourist attraction, which stands for freedom and liberation
